The lateral sinus lift laser assisted procedure can be used as an alternative treatment modality for sinus augmentation as compared to the external lateral window technique using classical instruments while reducing postoperative morbidity for the patients who need implant treatment in posterior maxillary areas. The lateral sinus lift procedure including the use of the laser represent an interesting opportunity to minimize an important and wide surgery.

The full procedure was chosen in a coherent way to fulfill this minimally invasive procedure.

First, the choice of a rational bone graft allowing to perform later a Summers’s technique avoiding any further flap to place the implants.

The general advantages of laser surgery, such as decreased bleeding and dry surgical field, reduced postoperative pain and less oedema, have led to a continuous interest in laser applications for bone cutting. The ability to cut bone with a laser is also of great technical benefits in minimally invasive maxillofacial surgery.

Surgerying in delicates areas could be stressing and requiring a good control of one's sensitive capabilities. Of course a good anatomical knowledge of the area should not be skipped like the right premedication of the patient has to be prescript for a precise intervention. But the manipulation of less aggressive surgical tools should be a must in particular surgeries. The major arterial anastomosis (External, mucous and Internal, often intrabony)  that cross the Anterolateral sinus wall have often in young patients a section of more than 2 mm. If a lesion (hemorrhage) appear, you hold the right tool in the right place at the right moment.  These last years more and more surgical procedures are including the use of a laser. However, more extensive research is required.
